How much fuel is left in an 02 Saxo when the fuel indicator light comes on?

I think the manual says 5 litres and the tank is 45 litres, but I have driven the car for about 30 miles with the light on and then got 41 litres of fuel in.

Do you get 30 MPL? I guess this would explain the extra litre. Plus, the sensor isn't exact, the fuel sloshes around a bit.

Also you shouldn't let your vehicle get below a quarter tank, it is bad on the fuel pump.
