  1. You need to know the diameter.  Go online to one of the pool supply sites. There should be a calculator there that will translate your pool size into number of gallons.


  2. The long answer:

    Volume = pi x radius squared x depth

    = 3.14 x ( 9 x 9 ) x depth, where depth is in feet.

    = 254.5 x [depth in feet] cubic feet

    Then convert cubic feet to gallons ( x 7.481).

    = 1903.7 x [depth in feet] gallons

    If your pool is an average of 3 feet deep, that's

    = 5711 gallons
