Question:

How much gas money would be fair to pay a friend who is driving you 105 miles?

The trip is just for me, it's a favor. He is driving me there, then dropping me off. So, no he doesn't benefit from the trip. I don't know the specifics of his car except that it's a Nissan.

  1. Its more than gas.....US government allows for $.48.5 cents / mile...

  2. Well, it depends on a variety of things,

#1 is he/she driving you there and back?

#2 is the trip just for you, meaning does the driver benefit at all from the trip or is it just a favor

#3 what kind of car is it?

Basically, if the ride is just a favor, you should pay enough for the the driver to get there and back home (meaning the gas tank would be where it started to begin with) If you want to be extra kind you can throw in a little extra.  For a 105 mile trip filling up the tank (about 40 bucks) should do it!

    Have fun! :)

  3. well it depends on the car you use shouldnt take more than a tank figure 30 or 40 for a tank of gas

  4. If you are just going one way I'd say 20-25 bucks other wise 40-50.

  5. The whole cost.

  6. $20.00USD much less than a taxi or owning your own car.  Gas at $3.30USD @ 20 miles per gallon = $17.33USD in gas cost, and the rest is quite little may be I should have said $35.00USD for their time and some food on the trip.

Based on the additional information pay him $100.00USD and call it even.

  7. whatever you can afford

your not paying for the gas your paying for the favor.

the least you can do is cover the gas.

if they didn't take you how would get where you needed to go.

in other words how much money is your friend saving you?

it that a round trip or one way?

if they were getting paid minimum wage per hour, how many hours would the entire trip take?

if your low on funds just pay what you can.

but be sure and give them more when your able .

and don't just say it, do it.

otherwise they might not be so quick to help you in the future.

estimate a car gets 20 mpg and go from their.

  8. half of what she pays for gas but don't be stingy, roughly. If she is driving you and not herself, the full amount.

  9. $30 plus drive-tru, let's say a Happy Meal from McDonalds.

Also burn your buddy a cd to have something to listen to on the way back.

  10. I would guess about $40 for gas and maybe buy lunch as a thank you. :)

  11. gas alone will cost 18.00 @20 mpg plus tip i would say 30.00

  12. I would think that would depend on many things. Such as your friend need to go where you are going? If he is then splitting the gas would be fair. What kind of car does your friend drive and what gas mileage does it get? If your friend gets 20miles to the gallon than he will use roughly 5 gallons at whatever prices are current in your area. Is 105 miles round trip or just one way? Also there is wear and tear on the car so you may want to double what you pay especially if they do not need to be going where they are driving you.

Companies tend to reimburse employees around $0.40 per mile for driving their personal vehicle on trips. I think that is too high depending on the car type. With a Honda Civic, I would drive whenever I could at 40 cents per mile.
