  1. 21 MPG highway? and have you correctly calculated this?

Base the trip on your city economy for worst case scenario

say .... 16 mpg city, 115 gallons of gas

21 mpg HW, 88 gallons of gas

and factor how much driving is going to be entirely highway and how much is generally under 50 mph.

    Then find your happy medium.

  2. Just divide the number of miles by your mpg... so type into your calculator:  1848 divided by 21. Answer should be between 95 and 100.  So, you will need about 95-100 gallons.  Then, just for added safety, add about 10 gallons for a trip that long. That makes 110 gallons.  (btw, if the sticker on your car at the dealership said, "21 MPG," plan on getting fewer miles to the gallon, like maybe 18.  Because of the way the law is written, they can fudge it a bit, and they do) So, if you live in the US and are paying about 3 dollars per gallon, just multiply 110 gallons by 3 dollars.  110 times 3 = 330, or $330. for gas.  Don't forget the cost of hotels.  Much cheaper and quicker to fly.

  3. Didn't you learn simple arithmetic?   Divide 1848.83 by 21.  Multiply by you local gas station's prices.

  4. you would need 88 gallons of gas. Prices vary by location. To find the cheapest gas near your area check out this link http://www.ehow.com/how_2204491_find-che...

  5. 88 gallons....average price of regular unleaded right now is $2.95 a gallon so that equals $259.71 in gas

  6. at 3.00 dollars per gallon it would cost you around 264 dollars or 88 gallons of gas

  7. divide 1848.83 by 21 and thats how many gallons you would need.

    Gas prices change constantly.

  8. How big is the gas tank?
