Hi, I am staying in UAE since a year now with my husband and daughter. Planning to visit Mumbai this year end. Did this stupidity of not taking an export certificate when bringing my ornaments from mumbai.Infact was ignorant of the fact that not much is allowed to take back to india.I would be having around 200 gms of indian gold with me and around 55gms of dubai gold. Can anyone tell me as to what is the exact amount of gold in all that can be carried dutyfree at the mumbai airport.Really need this help/guidance from anyone who have come across such a situation/or as to what can be done now or whoever is aware of rules at the Mumbai airport now.Thank You

  2. i have no clue, i would call the airport, or find out threw customs...if yo cant take it with you on the plane you can probably mail or ship it

  3. It depends on your country of citizenship, how long you were out of the country, etc., this website has some good information about bringing gold into India.

  4. Hi There

as per the Indian customs men can carry gold valued of 10000 and 20000 for woman as duty free.

if it is more than, they you have to pay 250 Indian Rupees for each 10 Grams of gold you have. that means you have currently 255 Grams of gold then you have to pay around 6250 Indian Rupee to the Custom.

let me know if you need any information
