I have a 140 hp mercruiser w/ alpha one outdrive. I just put grease in those 3 things near outdrive. On the one on the bottom left some grease squeezed out next to grease nipple. The others i pumped the grease kind of alot and it kept going in. How do I know when its full? Is grease supposed to come out? Any help appreciated.

  1. You should have four grease nipples on the outer gimball house, looking from behind, one on top for the steering shaft lubrication, one on each side where the outdrive pivots for trim and tilt and one on the right side below center near the transome to lubricate the gimbalbearing inside. This bearing supports the driveshaft from the outdrive into the coupler on the engine. It is not posible to check if it is lubed ok without removing the drive first. Just squeeze some grease in, better to much than non. I do this one on a regular base.
