  1. Its pretty close to rollerblading actually.  One downside to them though is trying to stop.  You have like no surface area to grab the snow and slow you down, so it takes a lot longer and is a lot shakier.  This also sucks when yoru going fast, because you have less edge to cut the snow and it causes  your uphill foot to chatter A LOT.  Ive even used them kind of a lot and I still cant get my uphill foot to stop chattering, and its made me fall a couple times.

Oh and when your going really fast, since there's almost no ski sticking out behind you, it feels like they're going to slip right out from under you at first, and they will if your not used to them.  Thats a problem they have with landing jumps and drops too. But all of these things you can learn to deal with by practicing.

  2. Well its a bit different,  you learn about lots of your bad habits from skiing that you never knew.  Im a ski and a snowblade instructor for a local ski area.  Its a lot of fun, but not really hard at all.  It just takes some time to adjust to the shorter skis.  You will learn how much more agility you have snowblades too.  Learning how to ski backwards is 10 times easier!  Plus, If you can rollerblade, you probably can snowblade already.  Its very similar to blading (depending on the blades length and width).  And another tip,  buy short and wide snowblades.  That way you can blade on powder as long as there is a packed base underneath.  Hope this helps =)~
