I have a 2008 Special Edition Scion tC, and I'm looking to put in a Greddy brand turbo charger. I was wondering how much horsepower I'd end up with in the end. The tC comes with a 163 base hp, so, what will be the end result? I'm looking at the one that's about 3k.

  1. I'm not exactly sure what the gains will be...you can always email/call GReddy and talk to them.

But from my experience and from what I have seen...you'd probably be looking at a 40-50% increase in power.  So around 245hp would be possible.  But you also gotta ask GReddy how much boost (in psi) that you can run.  My guess is since the tC motor isn't really a turbo friendly motor, you cannot run massive amounts of boost.  So my guess is the boost will be set conservatively at around 6-8 psi.  The more boost, the more HP, but you also run the risk of pinging, knocking, detonation, and blowing your motor.  So just adding the turbo kit is great, but you really need to make sure you do the supporting mods that will ensure it to be reliable and safe to run more boost if you so desire.
