Question:

How much/how often does your 4-month old eat?

My daughter weighs about 15 lbs, and does not seem satisfied with 5.5 oz. every 3 hours. She since started eating 7 oz. every 4 hours, but I think that is giving her an upset tummy, and she has started to spit up more. She only eats during the day, and can go all night without eating. Please share your experiences. Thanks so much!

  1. My 3 month old eats between 5 and 5 1/2 ounces every four hours, she spits up a little sometimes try just making 6 ounce bottles and see how she is with that amount, my daughter went through a stage a few weeks ago of finishing what ever was in her bottle at one point at 2 months old she was drinking 7 ounces but that only lasted for a couple of bottles  . Have you started her on any baby rice yet? she may just be having a growth spurt and want slightly more but not need as much as seven

  2. a 4 mnth year old eats 4-6 oz of food per serving. And 6-8 feedings a day

  3. My daughter used to eat 5oz 4-5 times/day

Slept the night through since she was 2 months.

  4. Have you started solids?  One of the signs of being ready is that your baby will not seem satisified and will be consuming a lot more formula/breastmilk.  I start some cereal slowly and keep up with your regular feedings.
