How much hp could a 7 foot wood boat handle?

i have a 9 hp on an 11 ft boot and i top out at 25 easy with one person im sure you could put a 9 or a 10 and you would fly. a 6 or 7 would be alright also

The answer depends on the hull design and technique used to construct the boat.  There is not enough information here to respond accurately.   Some wooden racing hydroplanes this size could handle 40 hp while other  7 ft wooden boats  might be unsafe with 5hp.

the use of a trolling motor would be the safest thing for you to employ ... unless you want to use yo boat for a speed machine...............  in which case I recommend that you take the boat to a """ boat repair and motor rebuilder -- fiberglass shop"" let somebody look at what you are attempting and advise you of the possible outcome -- will the boat have proper flotation for safety for you and the boat and the weight of the motor ---- there is more to this question than you are asking ??????
