I want to start making smoothies but all the recipes I see dont call for ice or water although when I have seen them being made at smoothie shops they always add lots of ice. So ice or no ice? Thanks everyone =]

  1. you use 1 full scoop

this is suited to this recipe: a handful of fruit, 150mL of milk and 50mL of yoghurt.

  2. Well i make smoothies all the time and so i would say add about a cup full first like a drinking cup and try it, if you taste it and it needs more then add some more.

  3. You def. want to add ice! Don't use water or it will make the smoothie too liquidy. Add about 1 or 2 cups of ice depending on how big you want the smoothie!

  4. depends how much other ingrediants are in there, i use 3/4 cup if i put ice in them which i dont usually

  5. 1 of ice depending on how big you want the smoothie!

  6. Honestly, I add about 1/4th ice. I use apple juice rather than water though...it makes for an excellent base.

  7. I used to work at Jamba Juice, and we did add ice. For a typical 24oz smoothie, 2 oz of ice is added, along with 12 oz of juice, 6 oz fruit, and 4 oz frozen yogurt. Our fruit was frozen however, so if you are using fresh fruit, you will no doubt need more ice. Perhaps 6 oz.

  8. For a smoothie it is generally half a cup of ice but if you want more of a frappe it is a whole cup of ice (I use the cup I want to drink out of as the measuring cup that way I know once blended I shouldn't have too little or too much

  9. rule of thunb is usually about 3 qaurters ice of the cup you are using
