It is a mile and a half give or take, you can walk it in 20 minutes which is only about 10 minutes longer than it would take by cab.

They run on meters & whether your moving ot stuck in traffic the meter will still be ticking up. If there's not much traffic about(LOL) it will be less. Not sure if the taxi drivers take plastic.

Probably your best bet is to check out private taxi co's in the area & ask what they will charge for the same trip & try to negotiate a set price.

Taxi's are always the most expensive way to get round London. Take the tube or a bus - They are much much cheaper.
