How much indian decent do you need to be able to apply for a scholarship?

my great grandmother is a full blooded indian from the choctaw tribe. i recently heard that if you are at least a sixteenth indian then you can get scholarships. is this true??

  1. I have heard that rumor also but you need to verify with whomever is sponsoring the scholarship. Some may require you have proof, such as birth records and tribal records. Remember they are not going to simply GIVE money away to anyone. You have to proven to meet THEIR requirements.
