How much information can I reveal about a former resident? ?

After the apartment community I work at evicted a resident, maintenance found a wallet in the closet of the resident's former apartment. I've contacted the wallet's rightful owner. Am I allowed to tell him who's apartment it was in?

  2. It's not like the old tenant is going to sue you since he broke the law by stealing someone else's wallet.  Answer the man's questions.

  3. If they ask, I don't see why you shouldn't tell them.  

  4. Why would you need to?  Just say 'I've found something that belongs to you, please come and retrieve it if you'd like it back'.  There's no need to get any more specific than that.
