Do you guys feel that one person or a group can make a difference? I mean, if a problem can be solved by organizing and coordinating efforts to try and solve critical social problems how many of you will actually take part in it?

Consider the life changing mission of trying to alleviate poverty by using/not damaging our environment and incorporating business and technology - avoid political and religious issues.

10pts to the most intelligent and honest answer that accurately gauges How You really feel. (no right or wrong answers)..

  1. Most people don't have much interest in changing the world, we are only concerned about things that affect us, right now.

I think that comes from the manner in which we live, we all need money to live, and the more money you have the better you live. We all want to live better. Attaining money takes up most of the people time, so there is not time for much else, regardless of it importance.

I have mixed felling about one person/organization making a change...It has happened many times throughout history but, how long is the change and for how many?

Business and technology can alleviate poverty, but it will only happen with the removal of religion, politics as the main determining factors in social or public policy.

We must focus on what is right for the people today, with today's problems.

  2. Hi There,

Definitely I would like to be part of such missions.

However just want to add here that the Core of every problem that we face today - Poverty, Unemployment, Illiteracy, Water Crisis, Starvation, Inflation, Global Warming, etc.

You talk of any problem - the Core and the origin of every problem is Population.

Where is the Human population Going? Are we really worried about the consequences of this?

We talk of development, where is it taking us. We have already over utilized the resources and now it has come into the category of exploitation. Continuous manufacturing and use of Non Bio-Degradable products, Pollution, Acquiring lands from Forests, Cutting of trees, and on and on and on.....

Instead of acting on the core problem:- we fight on political grounds, nuclear capabilities, religious beliefs and what not?

Hit the Population, just ask yourself these questions:-

Why cant we encourage single parenthood? (WE HIT POPULATION GROWTH AND HELP ORPHAN CHILD BOTH AT THE SAME TIME WITH THIS)

Why cant we educate on Preventive measures on Birth Control? (MEDITATION AND SELF CONTROL COMES FIRST, THE MODES AND MEANS COMES NEXT)

Why cant we encourage g*y Marriages? (GOD HAS CREATED A WAY TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME CONTROL THE POPULATION)

Why cant people encourage God's Path of Exile (to become Nuns and Brothers). (NO PARENT WANTS IT - IT WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE A PATH TO THOSE WHO ARE OF THAT MENTAL STATURE ALSO STRENGTHENING THE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS)

We need to educate , encourage and change the normal social structure that we have formed, the parameters we have set for ourselves as per the society. Every Parent wants their child to be successful, smart, married and parents of their grandchildren.

Every Parent should realize their duty towards society and their children. Every Child is born with a gift and approach towards life. Let them put their gift to the betterment of the society rather than pressurizing them to pursue the normal social path set by the social structure.

Whatever you do Please control the Birth Rate and things would be much better then they seem.

Hope i have been able to put my point across.

    Take Care

  3. I am really interested in changing the world, actually the people who know me constantly tell me to stop thinking about it, i want to understand the way the world works and the people in it because i envision the future of humanity in a way where hopefully people will reject greed and monetary gains at the expense of others and we can learn to live together as citizens of the earth that have equal rights to the worlds resources. sometimes i just think myself in circles over it but the way we live our lives each day, we all face moral and ethical dilemmas whether we chose to face it or not.

  4. I have no interest in trying to save/change the world. The reason is there are many people in the world with different views. Some opinions are old-fashioned and out-dated. In order for change to occur, people must be willing to accept new ideas, and it would take generations for significant change to occur. Things like slavery in America, enough people must want it to be abolished in order for change to occur.

One person can change many things, but they can't change the entire world without people accepting this person's opinion/help.

  5. Right now I want to gather a bunch of people. Kids these days... Calling each other horrible names such as c*nt and wh*re who are in elementary school... And dressing so inappropriatly at a young age. It's not right. Being a kid is tough enough and this new generation is making it worse. Last year I witnessed a bunch of people laugh at a girl saying HA HA SHE'S A L*****n and she ran off crying. I just want people to be nicer and more open to each other.

  6. hi i love you reply me,

  7. I don't think one person can change the whole world.   I believe if one person could make a speech and change the world, that person would be very much hated by people who would resist change.  I point to examples of  Martin Luther King Jr., John Kennedy and yes, Jesus Christ.    There will always be reistance to change as long as someone stands to lose - money, standing, power, respect, etc.

I think a person can influence other people.

The most effective way to change others is by changing one's self.   Setting an example for my children and friends and family DOES make a difference.

Kindness, charity and acceptance are the things I most try to teach by example.   It always amazes me when I realize how rare these qualities are.

If I help 2 people and they each help two people and they help 2 people...   the world gets better a bit at a time.   The circle widens.

  8. i think we all say we want to change the world...but i think not everybody means it. i am personly a shy person and if anybody asked me "if you could change the world, would you?" i would say yes...but people say these things and don't really take the oppertunity when it arises or don't go ot there and try...if anyone asked me i would say yes...but i don't think i could.......

  9. Just as much interest as they want to change the world.

yes i do believe.if the right strategy is used and clear show of interest.

I would do depending on the objectives and goals of the   mission.

Here, its very difficult to ignore politics of which is government or religion when it comes to matters concerning development.

Take for example, before, you start anything, the authorities need to know your presence there. You many also need help from the local administrators of That particular area.even the Church has influence. If you need mobilization, these are the institutions to use.

Then talking about the mission itself, it would be better to go down to the grass root so as to practice bottom up approach for lasting results.

I hope it helped some how.

  10. As you may realise the governments have made every effort to suppress genuine opinion from the masses. So part of this is aparthy in the community. I would think that deep down majority of people would like their life to be healthier and prosperous, no wars and peace worldwide. The issues of the environment are only open to those who have the cash to purchase friendly items so until the poverty and peace issues are addressed this is not going to happen in a hurry.

  11. Personally, I think that change can only come about from little steps within. For example, you stop to help an elderly lady onto the bus... or, you give some money to the homeless man on the street. Sure the old lady could hit you for touching her, or the homeless guy could use the money for booze.. But, that's not the point. The point is the intrinsic value in Wanting, or needing to help others. If they abuse your gifts, they will hit a road block in life..While, you.. you will continue on spreading your kindness to others who MAY continue this pattern. Like the tiny butterflies that flap their tiny wings can change and influence the weather on the other side of the world, so, too can we..one little gesture at a time.

Wishful thinking, but I try to do my part.

  12. well i think everyone has dreams of "changing the world"

and i also think that everyone has the ability theyre just lazy

but first you must take a good look at yourself and what you need to change before you can change anything or anyone else

  13. Everyone dream of changing the world, but not much does anything than dreaming..

'Pay it forward' is good movie which suggests a simple formula to change the world..
