I am Trying to figure out how much i would weigh if i added the stuff that is added to a jockey's weight. i know that the saddle, silks, and boots are weighed too but i would like to know what else goes along with all that and how much all that weighs without the jockey's weight. I am trying to work my way to becoming a jockey and i need all the info i can get. Thanks to anyone who will attempt this question!!!!!!

  1. The jockey is weighed with his saddle and all his clothing, though not his hat or whip.

    Do remember that racing saddles come in many different sizes - most jockeys have 3 saddles: a lightweight one that weighs only a few lbs for when they have to do a very low weight, a medium sized saddle for everyday use and a larger saddle for doing the heavier weights.  The saddle worn by a horse in a race is owned by the jockey and NOT the owner/trainer of the horse.

    113lbs = 9stone 4lbs or 51.36kg

  2. I've read that to join a jockey school here in australia to become a jockey you must weight under 50 kilograms, preferrably 48 kilograms. This is so you can ride the light weighted horses in a race. I've been checking out a few sites as I myself hope to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a jockey. Good luck with your journey on reaching your goal.

  3. 113 Pounds = 51.25594 Kilograms

    All the jockeys apparel and saddles and stuff are very lightweight but unfortunately I don't know exactly how much they weigh.  Sorry.
