  1. close to 2 gb of ram! its pretty nice man, now you just need some good video cards and a quad core, and you're set for high performance

  2. It is good for Windows XP but moderate for Windows Vista.

Are you getting a new PC? Or are you adding RAM? Anyway, for Windows XP it is quite good for reasonable use such as internet, using applications, etc But not the best for gaming. If your usage is normal then it's not bad at all.

Vista will work on it too, only the problem is that Vista does not run good on RAM lower than 2 GB. But this is only around 60 MB short of 2 GB so it's quite good.

Go for it, if possible go for 2048 MB OR 2 GB, it's the same.

  3. You have 2GB of RAM. The reason it is only showing slightly more than 1.9GB is probably because of your graphic card utilizing the missing part.

As stated above, this is pretty good for Vista but it does depend on what you are wanting to do.

It's important to note that everything takes RAM. Not only security products (such as active anti-spyware, anti-virus and firewall) eat up memory but your operating system (Vista), active browser windows, running applications (such as Word, Gaming, Messenger, Photoshop, etc), graphic card, running other hardware (printers, etc) and malware all compete for system resources. The presence of Malware (viruses, spyware, etc) will particularly eat up your system resources so you may want to run your resident security products such as antispyware and antivirus applications to ensure that your system is clean.
