How much is 1x distance used in zoom of digital cam/ Handy cam....?

1 - 2 meters (3 - 5 feet) is normally the closest focus, unless the camera has a macro focus feature, in which case you can move in much closer. when in the macro range, the lense will not zoom and stay in focus as it normally would.  usually the macro is only used at the 1x zoom setting of the lens.
