How much is Directbuy's membership currently in your state?

Hello,

I reluctantly signed a contract with Directbuy in California and we were charged a whopping $6,500 and $150 every year after. I have been finding out in Google that it is a lot cheaper in other states. Can you please share w/ me how much was your membership in your state? Please only reply if you have had a membership within the last year.

So you're concerned that you paid $6500 instead of $5000.  But the premise for paying this money is that you were going to save much more than that, maybe $25,000 or $50,000.

If you were going to save $25,000, then it doesn't seem to be reasonable to be so concerned about the $1500 difference in membership fees.

Look at it this way:  If a stockbroker gave you a great tip that made you $1,000, would you complain because the commission was $75 and other brokers were charging just $15 commission, even though both brokers were handing out tips?  No, you'd be saying "Thank you very much!" to the one who helped you make some money.

The problem is that it's unlikely this membership will be worth to you anywhere near what they led you to believe it would be worth, and that you will actually endure additional time, trouble, and tribulation when you buy or attempt to buy something through DirectBuy.

You should be attempting to cancel, or otherwise seek a full refund of your membership fees.  Did they provide you with a 3-day notice of your right to cancel?  My understanding is that DirectBuy's corporate office _mandates_ this policy.  If they're not telling you about that policy, this _might_ be grounds for a cancellation (I'm assuming the 3 days has already passed... otherwise, just go ahead and cancel according to the instructions they have provided.)

If you're unsuccessful at getting a refund, you ought to change your YA name to "DirectBuy Victim".
