Curious to see how much potential employers look at GPA when you are first out of an MBA program? If so, what is considered an above average GPA? I have seen some top firms, if they ask, usually use a 3.4 min as a baseline. Thanks.

  1. at time having good GPA can bring u in trouble , if u cant justify it :-) hagd

  2. I've never been asked.

To add to that, a CPA with a 2.0 will beat out another guy with just an MBA and a 4.0.

If you sell yourself, they won't even think to ask.

  3. GPA is more of a headhunter's tool

  4. Your GPA holds no weight at all. They look more at what you studied, what school you went to and your personality during the interview process.

  5. It depends a lot on the recruiter. More important is how you handle the interview, what courses you took, what work experience you have, and from which school did you get your degree. But good grades can't hurt. Visit the Official MBA Guide and find out what kind of starting salaries graduates from various schools are getting.
