How much is a 100% return on $10,000?

Just trying to figure out numbers in investment. Haven't found a site that breaks it down in simple terms.

  1. returns in dollars = percent return*amount_invested / 100

    in your case = 100*10,000/100 = 10,000

    so you will end up with the 10,000 you invested plus the 10,000 that you made for a total of 20,000


  2. A 100% return on $10,000 is $10,000 meaning that you would double your money.

  3. $10,000 -- i.e., the original sum has doubled.  Which is about what you will get if you invest at a 6% return for 12 years.
