How much is a 12 year old autograph worth?

I met world figure skating champion Shae Lynn Bourne in 1995 when she was 19 years old. I got her autograph on a piece of lined paper because it was all I had on me at the time. Since then, it has been put away. The paper is a little faded but still in excellent shape. What would be the value on this item if I choose to sell it?

  1. you could probably get close to 100 bucks for it.

  2. I would think it's worth nothing, who would pay for an Ice Skater autograph anyway? That's something that is special to you only..

  3. This person wrote a guide for Ebay . . .

How do you determine the value of an autograph?

As others have mentioned, it's pretty much worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.  Bourne and Kraatz were popular ice dancers . . . but I don't know how popular they were "globally" speaking.

  4. It's worth as much as anyone is willing to pay for it. Simple as that. There has to be a market for it.  To me? Not worth 5 cents, to someone else?  Who knows.

Test it out on Ebay, with a set limit (reserve) and see how much people are willing to pay for it.
