I was wondering if anyone knows how much the current Olympic Gold medals are worth (also Silver, Bronze, etc.)? I'd like to know their value in either Australian dollars, US dollars or English pounds. Ta.

  1. Australian Dollars:

    Gold Medal=$25,000

    Silver Medal=$15,000

    Bronze Medal=$10,000

  2. The first article below states that an Olympic gold would be worth $138.24 and  the Olympic silver  $25.60; based on what it contains

The second article describes what is contained in a Gold medal; which is mostly Silver.

  3. that's a strange question... depends on what medal you win and whom won it, one of Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps' gold medals would be worth alot more than most other gold medals.

depends on how much sentimental value the athletes would place on their medals, i highly doubt you'll find them selling the medals unless they're really desperate.

  4. they dont have a value.their invaluable

  5. they have not had a gold medal since 1912.

  6. British pounds: Gold:

    Gold Medal=£11,700

    Silver Medal=£7,000

    Bronze Medal=£4,700

is the commercial value, but they are priceless because they are a sign of great sportsmanship!

I would never sell one if I got one.

I plan to go to 2012 to compete at Badminton!
