  1. In Alabama, a neighbor of mine was quoted $4000.00 for membership. I think you would have to buy alot of stuff to save any money.

  2. In my area I am told the fee is like 6000$. I do not feel like it is worth it. a I know they have/are being sued for misrepresenting themselves.

  3. Previous posters are likely correct on the price, though you should read this before paying anything.

For me, just watching the television commercial raised several red flags for this probably being a bad deal.

Look at it this way. Belonging to a buying club makes sense if you need to buy the same item over and over again, particularly bulk quantities of non-perishable foodstuffs. For example, a family that buys a giant box of breakfast cereal at Sam's Club every week to feed a half dozen young children. Or possibly a gas station in the middle of nowhere may make a trip to Sam's Club every second month buy cases of candy bars to stock their gas station's shelves with. While most people don't experience these demands enough do that it can keep a Sam's Club in business in most major cities.

However, most people don't buy furniture this way. Nobody that I know of replaces their coffee table every six months. Most people buy a couch and then they hold onto it for about twenty years. The group of people that a furniture club could prove economical or convenient for (interiors decorators are a possible example) are such a slim market that it's a wonder that one of these could stay in business even in a city like NYC or Los Angeles, yet they have eight showrooms just in Ohio. This also raises the question how are they financing all the television commercials they have been buying?

Wikipedia's article points out that even if you saved 25% on your purchases you would have to spend $20,000 to recoup the initial fee.

    Good luck!
