  1. Of the Selmer Signet series, the Soloist is the best.  It's a high-level intermediate instrument which, if it has been properly cared for and is in very good condition, could easily be expected to fetch $350.00.  I have owned one and played it for over 40 years and there is no way I would trade it or sell it. All clarinets can eventually be "blown out", meaning that they can need certain reconditioning from time to time.  Mine has been subjected to a moderate reconditioning once, many years ago; minor service and checkup now and then.  If you're looking to sell it, take it to a qualified technician and have it checked over and get the full skinny on the instrument.
