  1. i payed $14.00 for my half-moon betta from petco, and $7.00 for my crown-tail from wal-mart.

  2. They range about 3-4 dollars.  I kept mine in a glass vase with special plants that they love to nibble on .. contrary to some people saying they need large tanks and heater that isn't true. They live 2-3 years at least the one's I had. They are like gold fish and live in cold water bowls and tanks.

  3. Not to much. maybe a crown tail might be expensive. like 10 dollars. but other than that around 3 dollars. the one at my local fish store are 5. but my petsmart is so far away its worth it. (and she keeps them in large fancy displays. best store ever!)

  4. I got mine at petsmart and i think it was 3.79.

  5. you can get it cheaper at walmart, alot cheaper. you should think about that.

  6. you gotta look at how the store takes care of them first of all. you know the saying you get what you pay for so a petco may have a good fish or the local fish store may you just gotta look around but for a beta i would say anywhere from 3 to 10 bucks

  7. It depends on the kind of betta that you want. At Petco, they have Male bettas, Crowntail Males, half moons, deltas, and then your average females. The price ranges from 3.49 to 13.99.

  8. $4-$10

also what do you mean little fish bowl

bettas need 2.5 gallons minimum filtered and heated

  9. petco - 3.99 to 11.99

    petsmart - 2.99 to 5.99

    at least where I am.

PLEASE understand what you're buying. you may think you're purchasing a fish that will look pretty in a little bowl, but this is cruelty! these are tropical fish, they need a heater to be healthy (key word being healthy, yes they can survive for a little while in a bowl, but to a full, healthy life they need a heater!). so you'll need at least 2.5gallons with a 7.5watt heater. if you decide you want a bowl of that size, you'll need to do 100% water changes once a week. no excuses, would you want to swim in your p**p?

I highly recommend you do some research on proper care of a betta before you decide you want one, here's a start:
