You do know that quid isn't actually the proper word for the type of currency, it's just a slang word same as bucks is for dollars.

Check out currency websites near the time of your holiday, but pounds sterlings are normally worth about 2 dollars. Sorry.

One pound is about the average price for a 500ml bottle of Coke at the supermarket. Things are pricey here.
