Question:

How much is a cab fare in Las Vegas?

I've never taken a cab anywhere in my entire life. I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas and thought a cab would be cheaper than buying a rental car since all we need is a ride to and from the airport/hotel. Anyone have any idea how much cab fare is? I don't even know how all that works.

  1. Don't get a cab to and from the airport use the shuttles they are about $6 each and they are normally quicker

  2. Here is how taxi fares are calculated. You just need to know the distance you plan to travel. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/taxi-cab....

  3. In most major US cities, cabs are about $3-$5 to "drop the flag" to start the trip.  They then are $2.50 or so a mile.  In major cities, a couple extra dollars is tacked on if your trip involves the airport.

You may want to call a cab company in Las Vegas and price whatever trip you think you'll need if you know what that will be.  Cab companies offer trip price estimates.

  4. It will vary based on the company. Usually they start with a base amount, for example $3.50 as soon as you enter the cab, and then for every mile you travel it goes up one fold. So $3.50 more every mile. If you are planning to stick around The Strip, by an all day bus pass. It's like a dollar and some change and you can catch buses all up and down that 20 block stretch any time in that 16 hr. period.

  5. dont you want to see

    Hoover Dam

    Lake Mead

    Red Rock

    Valley of Fire Park

    or  the Fremont experience ?

get a rental car just for 1 day to see the many different aspects of Las Vegas

  6. it depends how far away your hotel is. we had a ten min ride and it cosr about 12 bucks, then theres the tip..

our cab driver told us dirty stories though and hinted how much we should tip him, im mad my friend tipped him 5 bucks, i'd have given him 2. hopefully you wont get the same one. have fun! i recommend the belagio breakfast buffet, get there just after 11 and the breakfast buffet will still be out with all the lunch stuff

  7. I recently took a cab from the airport to the Venetian (right on the strip).  The fare there was about $25 (but I heard this was a rip off), the fare back to the airport was about $20.  Basically the going fare from the airport to a hotel on the strip should be about $15-20 without tip.

I would add about $5 for tip...a bit more if you have a lot of luggage & the driver helps you with it.
