Normally if you get a cockatiel at a pet store, they will range from around $60 to $200, depending on what variation you get.  Then add at least another $60 for a cage, depending on the size, it could cost more, and he will need one with lots of room.  Then add on the cost of lots of toys and food.  You may be able to get a cockatiel a little cheaper if you buy it from a breeder.....
