  1. Look, everything about this says scam to me.

For starters, the walther 32 you have is illegal in chicago unless you registered it many many years ago...yet you have claimed to have found it while antiquing.

If you are NOT a scammer, you need to phyiscally remove that gun from chicago before you get youself in trouble.

Further, any antiquer would know enough to do just a minor amount of research, and would know that colt pistols go for tremendous amounts of money.

If you were legally able to have these in chicago, i.e. you are a FFL holder, you'd know that as well.

The chance of one man coming across one old gun while antiquing is low but not unrealistic, yet you have what, 3?  Further, when you add that the Colt revolver you link is a very common to find as a working reproduction, I think either you are scamming with a beat up old replica, or you innocently got a beat up old replica.

  2. "I Antique Online" website: http://www.iantiqueonline is a FREE community for people who buy, sell or collect antiques and art online. You can post your items or ask for an appraisal. The items will be viewed by hundreds of members!

  3. I won't say you are scamming anyone, but I'd not make a bid on that revolver without right of examination and refusal.

You do not state the caliber or model, and you post very fuzzy photos.  If it is an Italian copy, I'd say value is under $200.00.

To me, it looks to be a Second or Third Model Dragoon, if it is a real Colt Dragoon of 1850's vintage, it could bring anywhere from $5,000 to $100,000 depending on condition, even more if it can be traced to a well-known person or event.

You would do well to pull the auction and invest a hundred bucks or so to get a letter of authentication from Colt.  It could add considerable value to the revolver.

  4. It's a Union civil war officer's pistol... that's why it has

the lanyard ring on it... and 1861-64 is right. You can

check the serial numbers later and get the exact date.

Condition is decent, I'd take a guess of $2000 on it.

It should have an army ordinance stamp on it somewhere

as well... the dealer doesn't seem too knowledgable, this

may be your chance to get a bargin.

  5. I get nervous when I see Colts that have only gotten $165.00 bid on them if that fair of condition.

I hate to say this but they just had a gun buy back program in Chicago. People take all kinds of junk and stolen guns there just to get the hundred bucks per gun. I personally know people that pick up all the junk guns they can get and those don't even fire. But the policy is no questions asked so some guys take junk there and walk away with 7-8 hundred bucks and their cost was about 50 bucks total.

Just be very careful of getting a beater copy instead of a real deal. If you could see it in person, get the serial number, and check it with a Colt list. I still would think long and hard about it before I bought it. If the reserve price is in the 1-3 thousand range, then it MAY be real.

    Good luck but be careful.

  6. A lot of $$$.* >> Check here icollector.com, collectorsfirearms.com....

  7. AKLuis lost me talking about .32s and scams but back to your question:  I don't believe the asking opening bid so I'm guessing it is not a Colt but a modern Colt clone.  The photos aren't good quality but the gun itself looks rough.  For a Colt clone I wouldn't even bid fifty bucks because a pristine copy can be bought for less than $500.  If it is a real Colt the bidding wouldn't be starting at $100 unless it were junk.  Still, for the real deal $200 wouldn't be too bad.
