Pretty self-explanatory up there, and if you know somewhere better, let me know.

I don't mean to be cheap, but I hear they're alright quality and I'm on sort of a budget for the roses...

  1. i'm not exactly sure about the price, but they are about the cheapest place you can buy them from. but i work at walmart as a cashier and i hear people come in all the time and they say that they buy the roses separately and even though they treat them exactly the same some of them will stay beautiful for weeks, but others will die in hours. I don't know the scientific explanation for this, but its what happens.

  2. HI, I have only ordered flowers from Walmart once and honestly, I wont ever again. I sent my mom some for mother's day last year... When she got them half of the flowers were dead. I think they just local shops so it just goes on who happens to get your order. I have been using either 1-800 flowers or FTD for now on, its a little more money but at least they are alive when she gets them.

  3. Well, the roses really don't look that bad, and with proper care they can keep up their appearance for days.  The thing with buying flowers for a special occasion at a discount store, is that there is no guarantee that the flowers you want will be on sale at the moment that you need them, where if you special-order the roses, then there is a guarantee.

I would try ordering at Publix, because the flowers are not very pricey in comparison to Walmart, and they actually have a florist on staff that can arrange the flowers in your own special way.

  4. Where I live they are $9/dozen in the store.  They are very pretty but I don't know about the quality because I've never bought them.

I buy mine at the grocery store for about $6/dozen.  They are not very long lasting but they do dry beautifully.  I've kept them for years once dried.

  5.    Is it imperative that they be Roses or would another kind of flower work as well?  I am referring to Carnations, they come in all colours are beautiful, and smell nice and you can buy about 3 dozen for the price of the roses i'm sure. you can even phone a Florist and ask how much a dozen.

The thing i love about the Carnations is that they last about 2 1/2 weeks compared to barely a week for Roses and even then half die before opening.
