I want it done either in that red coloured tarmac or with bricks/blocks in the UK by the way.

  1. I just had a quote for £13k for 148 square metres from Town and Country Driveways - they produce a solid 'raft' which is 'printed' and coloured whatever shape or shade you want.  Looks nice but a bit rich for me! Good luck :-)

  2. i not long had a quote for mine and it came back at £20,000 my drive way is about 100ft wide by about 50ft long. for bricks

  3. That red tarmac is in fact asphalt as used on the hard shoulder of the motorway it has a concrete sub base and is horrendously expensive. The alternative is the use of 500mm block paving the colour best for you is Brindle.it needs about 4"of compacted grit with about 2"laid prior to laying blocks, which are then gone over with a whacker plate I would think you are looking at around £50 per metre

  4. Both are similarly priced and hard wearing,

The secret with both is to get the bit below ground done properly.

I usually dig out the existing ground to allow for 6 to 8 inches of granite hard core (type 1) which is great for either block paving or tarmac. Please ensure that who ever you agree to do the job does do a proper job of the base as tyre tracks and dips will soon appear  if not.

  5. Also, get them to specify the depth of hardcore foundation which they will be installing.
