  1. About £5.40

  2. I'm curious about why you asked this question in the beer, wine and spirits section.

  3. Different countries have some variation in what RON (Research Octane Number) is standard for gasoline, or petrol. In the UK, ordinary regular unleaded petrol is 91 RON (not commonly available), premium unleaded petrol is always 95 RON, and super unleaded is usually 97-98 RON. However both Shell and BP produce fuel at 102 RON for cars with hi-performance engines, and the supermarket chain Tesco began in 2006 to sell super unleaded petrol rated at 99 RON. In the US, octane ratings in fuels can vary between 86-87 AKI (91-92 RON) for regular, through 89-90 (94-95) for mid-grade (European Premium), up to 90-94 (RON 95-99) for premium unleaded or E10 (Super in Europe)

Gasoline (gas) or petroleum spirit (petrol) is a petroleum-derived liquid mixture consisting mostly of aliphatic hydrocarbons, enhanced with iso-octane or the aromatic hydrocarbons toluene and benzene to increase its octane rating, and is primarily used as fuel in internal combustion engines.

Most Commonwealth countries or former Commonwealth countries (with the exception of Canada) use the word "petrol", abbreviated from petroleum spirit. "Gasoline" is commonly used in North America, where it is often shortened in colloquial usage to "gas." It is not a genuinely gaseous fuel used in internal combustion engines such as liquefied petroleum gas, stored pressurised as a liquid but allowed to return to a gaseous state before combustion.

Mogas, short for motor gasoline, distinguishes automobile fuel from aviation gasoline, or avgas. "Gasoline" in British English can refer to a different petroleum derivative historically used in lamps, but this is now uncommon.

  4. in the uk its priced by litres.

The average at the moment is £1.20 per litre.

There are approximately 5 litres in a gallon.

    1.20 x 5 = 6

So a gallon of unleaded petrol in th uk would cost approximately £6.00

  5. £1.21.it varies across the uk.

  6. Most unleaded petrol is now around £1.21 per litre, diesel sells for typically £1.34 per litre. There are variations around the country but not much, and it seems to be increasing by about 1p/litre per week on average.

Road fuel in the UK is never sold in gallons because that's been illegal for nearly 30 years. The approximate conversion to gallons is 1 gallon = 4.5 litres.

The US gallon is smaller than the real (imperial) gallon so the conversion is different.

  7. About £1.19 a litre, so that's £5.35 a gallon.

  8. well i have just payed 1.32 for diesel and that is approx 6 pounds per gallon.Just X the price per litre by 4.54 to get the cost per gallon
