To play on they cost around £35 an hour. So if theirs four of you, you can play a round at St Andrews for £35 each!!

It all depends on what you are looking to do. If you want a launch monitor for range use, you can get a Zelocity. Which can be had for 200 or so dollars and purchased at a golf shop.  If you want a full blown course that you can play in your garage, and you have the money to burn, you can look into a P3 ProSwing. For the good one you are looking around 10,000 bucks.

There are many better ones out there. The ones that are used at the club developers can run upwards of 100,000 dollars.

I definitely looked into this after seeing a simulator they had at Golfsmith. They had an article on golfdigest.com of a dream golf house, which included a golf simulator that costs about $30,000.
