How much is a passport and ticket to India?

I would like to go to India first class. I wanna go to mumbai.is it to high? How much is the passport and ticket . I live in ohio america ticket&passport?that's all I need to know

In addition to a passport and a ticket, you will NEED a visa (not the credit card kind!) from the Indian consulate.  You can do it by mail, and I know there is one in Chicago.

A passport isn't that expensive - maybe 50 bucks but I got mine in 1999 (time to renew!)

The visa is also pretty cheap.

The plane ticket, though, will cost you a pretty penny.  I can't really give you an estimate because I don't know what city you're flying to/from or what time of year you want to go, and it varies a lot.  Go look on orbitz.com or some site like that.  I can tell you that what I did was buy a plane ticket from St. Louis to Berlin, a train ticket from Berlin to Paris, and a plane ticket from Paris to Bombay, just because I wanted to see some of Europe, too.  Roundtrip airfare (but not counting the train ticket) cost me about $1100.  That was a few years ago so it would certainly be more these days.
