  1. First of all it's 'python.' Secondly, you shouldn't get any animal if your parents say no. They have good reasons. Your BF probably isn't going to stick with you forever even if you do get a snake. Lesson: Friends and BFs/GFs might bail on you but family is forever. Anyway, it depends on the rarity of the python breed. The rarer, the more expensive. Size and the place you get them are also factors of the price. But, thats not neccesarily true in all cases. Sometimes stores will charge you more for a common bigger snake than a rare small one. The price of the python depends on the store you buy it from. Plus, the cost of food, a tank, heat lamp...etc. Make sure you have enough and do some research.

  2. Doesn`t sound like a good idea. I don`t think you will be able to hide a cage large enough for a pyhton and hook it up to light and heat very well. I mean you can try hiding a 20 gallon tank and mice in your freezer but it doesn`t seem like it is going to work out well. And even a baby ball python will need a 40 to 55 gallon tank full grown. Anyways price depends on the type of python they range from $60 to $3,000.

  3. Your bf is shallow. Ditch him. If your parents said no then that means no!

I got my year old ball python for $35 from a private breeder. I wouldn't pay more than 40 if I were you.

  4. the doodle guy is right if ur parents say no than i wuld stick with there answer becuase pythons can live up to 40 years so if u buy 1 and get to realy realy love it than that sucks cuz ur parents have about 40 years to find out that u have a python and theyll probably get rid of it and thats just a waste of abot 70 dollars and love.

  5. If you want to get a pet, and your parents said no, you shouldnt get one. I say this because it doesnt just cost money for the snake (ball python), but it costs money for the tank, the heating pad, the heat lamps, and weekly feedings of mice. You will probably need financial assistance from your parents and the snake should see an exotic vet for health checkups. I spent probably $250-$300 for my ball python and all accessories.

  6. first, learn to spell python correctly...

  7. As others have said where is the money coming from? It costs alot to properly set up an enclosure, then you are looking at ongoing costs for food per week.

You shouldnt feed live, so where are you going to keep the frozen mice if your parents don't know you have a snake? Im sure they would find them in the freezer.

Plus what happens if the snake gets sick, how are you going to get it to a vet to get proper care? Oh thats right, you didn't think about that because your being selfish.

If they said no, then its completely irresponsible to get an animal that you can't look after on your own. Don't make the poor snake suffer.

Talk to them about it more, do your research first to know what your getting into, and maybe they'll say yes..
