  1. It is in the region of 1 trillion Zimbabwean $, according to BBC news.

  2. Depends if its WHITE bread or not

  3. 5.30pm: 40,000,000 Zimbabwe dollars

    6.00pm: 40,100,000 Zimbabwe dollars

    6.30pm: 40,200,000 Zimbabwe dollars

    7.00pm: 40,300,000 Zimbabwe dollars

As for tomorrow or next week, who knows?  The way inflation is rocketing over there at the moment I doubt anyone is in a position to give an intelligent guess.

Since the Z$ is next-to-worthless they probably deal mostly in hard currencies such as the US$ now anyway.  Assuming the shop actually had some bread to make one with I wouldn't be surprised if your average western tourist had to pay something like US$10 for the privilege.

To be honest, it's not a part of the world I ever plan on visiting to find out!

In March 2008, a sausage sandwich apparently would have set you back about 30 million Z$ according to this website: http://www.csmonitor.com/2008/0325/p06s0...

  4. 30 million Zimbabwe dollars, or about $1.25

reason because of the very high level of inflation

  5. Metal Mickey is correct it changes daily and hourly!

It's not only expensive but whether you can actually get a sandwich in the first place! Food is very short in Zimbabwe and many people (if they can afford it) do their greater food shopping in South Africa!
