I don't think you want to take a taxi from Kingston to Port Maria, it very far in a taxi.

Maybe you can go by coach to Ocho Rios from Kingston....then Ocho Rios to Port Maria is not that far.

                                        

I would not suggest you drive in Jamaica either...after Paris they have to be the next in line for bad/fast drivers.

Call the 1800 Jamaica( or the Jamaica Tourist Board) and ask them the best way to get there.

Depends on the taxi. My suggestion is to take a bus ( tourwise, or any of the other tour companies ) from the airport...ALWAYS the better deal. If the bus doesn't go to Port Maria, take it to Ocho Rios. You'll pay about US$30 for the bus....in Ochi, you can get a charter taxi for about US$30, or a route taxi for $J300.

A straight charter taxi from Kingston to Port Maria will cost alot...maybe US$100...but tell the driver to go through Half Way Tree and on to Highgate, then down to Port Maria....might cost less that way. A route taxi from Kingston to Ochi about J$500, then another route taxi from Ochi to Port Maria J$300.
