How much is a ticket for a tinted lisence plate protector?

i'm asking for California, but it would help to give me an estimate for any state.

The ticket could just be a fix-it ticket, but if you have priors, and used the protector to avoid a photo violation then your are taking several hundreds dollars. Plus cops will use that plate protector as an excuse to pull you over and look for other violations.
