  1. It all depends.  Look up Trainline in google.

  2. I wish there was a simple answer to that - it all depends on the time of day that you travel, how far ahead you book and whether you are prepared to nominate a particular train time to travel on.

The easiest thing to do is to look at http://www.thetrainline.com and look at all the options

    Hope that helps

  3. Depends on the time of day, which of the possible routes you take,  whether you book in advance, and whether you commit to a specified journey or want a ticket valid on a range of trains.

Times: rush hour costs more, esp mornings.

Route: Virgin between London Euston and Birmingham New St. is fastest but may cost more. Slower trains between the same stations via Northampton are cheaper, so are trains from London Marylebone, so is going from London Paddington changing at Reading or Oxford.

To see the range of fares, look them up at www.nationalrail.co.uk

  4. The cheapest is via Chiltern Railways from Birmingham Moor St or Snow Hill to London Marylebone. At 2 hours journey time takes 30 minutes longer than the Virgin Inter City service from New Street, but Chiltern have one way tickets from £5 booked via your mobile. See www.chilternrailways.co.uk

  5. Go on National Rail for the best prices you can book online up to 12 weeks in advance. The earlier you book the cheaper it is and i would go from Birmingham New Street to Euston its the cheapest route From £39.00 to £100.00 Depending on time of travel. Travel time 1 hour 45 minutes. National express £26.00 Travel time 2 hours 50 minuets. All are return fares

  6. As you may have noticed, you may as well ask how long is a piece of string?

                                    Are you in a rush?

It not do yourself a favour, Go with the National Express , just over the road fro Birmingham rail station.   A fraction of even the lowest Brit rail price, look it up on the internet  'National Express' on your search engine.
