I HAVE A 1997 TAURUS GL HOW MUCH IS FOR A TRANSMISSION I DONT KNO IF IT NEEDS ONE YET SOMETIMES I DRIVE A LONG WAY AND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT WONT GO OR IT WILL GO SLOWLY

  1. Want to advise to have it checked for a low/reverse servo piston need replacing. These are known for the rubber seal to get hard and lose pressure.Couple hundred compared to a $1400.00 Transaxle price and not counting labor. About $2000.00 and more for this unit and labor.

  2. first take it to a mechanic.  it may be something as simple as it needs the fluid changed (150-300 dollars)  he will also be able to tell you cost and installation.

  3. 1200 to 1600 shop around...got fluid??
