How much is a typical college student auto insurance?

Question

i got my license when i was 17 and never had any accidents whatsoever. im now 18 years old and going to be a college freshman. im planning on to drive an 03 nissan altima when i become a sophormore in college @stony brook university. when i got the quote from geico it was like $4000. can someone with similar background tell me whats a reasonable estimate of a college student auto insurance?

That's expensive as h**l and that's about right on. Boys at your age are proven to be terrible drivers. Sorry, it's just the facts. Your rates will drop once you get married or turn 25 which ever comes first.

EDIT: Plus you've only had your license for a year which is not very much driving experience at all.
