How much is a typical sugar glider?

I want to get one, but the price me and my friends seen for one and the cage and food was like almost $500. My parents don't want me getting a sugar glider for that much money they tell me to get a different pet instead but when I ask they say no. How much do you think they are and any website to help out?

a pet glider from a petshop or good breder will be between $175 and $2000 depending on the color phase.  youll need at least 2 because sugar gliders are etreemly social and noctournal so unless your willing to be up LITERALLY all night long playing wiht him and carrying him everywhere with you ALL DAY (in otherwords dont have school job or a social life) as a human it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to give a glider the true companionship he needs so they must be kept in pairs at least!

a cage large enough for a glider will cost you at least $200, they require a VERY LARGE cage for their relative size.

Your alos going to want to spend at least $200 on toys, ropes hammocks pouches ect. they need LOTS of climbing/play stuffs!

food is also VERY expensive and time consuming they require a mix diet of prepared food and lots of fresh foods...

a low ball figure for the cage, a pair of gliders and their cage as well as about 1 months worth of food usually ends up between $500-$1000

then a vet check will set you back about $100 per glider and they should be seen by an exotics speicalist at least once a year, plus about $50-$80 a month for their food

gliders are NOT cheap pets!  if moeny is a problem the answer is simple...dont get one, these are EXPENSIVE pets.
