  6. Try Scanning it, if it won't scan do a rubbing of both sides and send the picture to a evaluation site - I am sure they will do one somewhere or the rubbings through the post.

  7. At least 5 pounds.

  8. Assuming you're referring to the ordinary "silver" cupronickel £5 coin issued since 1990, then £5.

    Gold £5 coins have also been issued since 1980, and earlier in 1820, 1826, 1829, 1839, 1887, 1893, 1902, 1910, 1936, 1937, 1953, 1957, and these are worth a lot more than £5.

  9. I'll give you £4.00 for it.

  10. It is only worth five pounds I`m afraid!  Unless you go to a specialist coin dealer.  They may be able to help more.

  11. You need to take it to a collector. You can also check coinsite.com or oldcoinshop.com, compare at least 3 or 4 offers.

  12. You're better off going to a coin dealer and asking him. I collect coins, and it depends on the condition of the coin, whether it's mint or bullion, and if it's rare. The bank and shops will just give you face value, so don't take it there!

  13. I will give you £5.01 for it......... DOH!

    Anyway, they're pretty recent.

The Royal wedding (Charles and Diana) still had 25p coins

  20. Well this is a really wild guess but I would say £5. And it can't be a very old one because they haven't been in circulation that long.

  21. in morrisons there only worth 25p somebody tried to use one to pay for there petrol and thats what they were told .

  22. I would say probably 500 pennies.

  23. Five pound coins have only been issued for 18 years so it can't be that old (1990 was the first one). Before that the coin of the same size was a crown and therefore only worth 25 pence (5 shillings). However all the coins are fairly common - so they're not worth much more than face value especially if it is truly a five pound coin.
