How much is airline ticket from Dallas TX to Charlotte NC right now?

Question

I would like to find a cheap airline ticket. I would like to leave Dallas on Thursday and return sunday.

i use to be able to get the ticket for about $140 - $180 from travelocity. i use to visit my nephew twice a year, but now i haven't be able to do that cause the ticket are so high. thank you in advance for your help.

You're going to generally get the cheaper fares the farther out you purchase.  Within 7 days your options are very limited.

Going through www.site59.com you can get air on United plus a rental car (which you may or may not use) for $551 r/t.  Air alone the cheapest I'm seeing is $688 on Air Tran.

Check the airline webistes for deals.  airefarewatchdog.com is a great resource.  Try southwest.com as well.  Another website worth checking is kayak.com.  Keep in mind that booking very close to a desired departure date results in higher fares.  Booking 21 or more days in advance can usually garner a lower fare.  Finally, sign up for the airlines' fare alert emails.  Sometimes they have fare sales that are not avertised on the generic travel sites.  Good luck.

Well...if your talking about this weekend, prices will be a bit high.  According to http://www.farecast.com, a round-trip ticket leaving this Thursday and returning Sunday, will probably run close to $700.  If you plan ahead a bit, and were to plan a weekend in August, you should be able to get something between $300-$400.  And consider flying back on Monday...that would probably knock the cost down a bit more as well.
