I'm not sure that there is such a thing as an annual bus ticket. As others have said, details concerning a railway ticket would depend on where you wanted to travel to and from. If you are talking about discount cards, however, a 16-25 railcard costs £24 a year and details can be found on http://www.16-25railcard.co.uk/

From where to where, if a student will you be using a Young person or Educational pass, if the later from which Authority as most have different rules and reulations concerning public transport travel. What time of day are you travelling, how many times (full time or part time as some mature students only do a few days a week).  How many interchanges are you making onto different services (different TOC's on the railway have different rules about season tickets)
