  1. I did this journey some years ago, i recall they tend to pile as many people into little mini buses and then take a rather scary night journey through barren landscapes to cairo. It takes quite a few hours and was equivalent of about 15£ back then, so my guess is youd pay nearer 40 now.

  2. First of all I'd question why you would want to go to Sharm? uurgh!

Anyway, do not get any excursions, they are SO overpriced and extremely uncomfortable, and hurried. You are herded around like sheep!

Why not just get the train/coach up to Cairo and do everything yourself? Much much cheaper and much more satisfying!

I went round Egypt independently quite easily, and saw a lot of things most tourists never will, as well as enjoyed the major sights a lot more as I had more time. I have to say though the bane of my trip there was the legions of coaches and tour groups of people like yourself who would generally all turn up at once (I counted 50 d**n coaches in the car park of a temple in Aswan!!!) ruin the place for a couple of hours then dissapear.

  3. The best website to check out prices for an excursion is www.affordabletours.com

I hope that this helps you.  I booked my anniversary Egypt tour with them for Sept. and I am totally excited to be there!!

  4. Hi. I've done that trip. It's about £125 - £137 depending where you buy it from. you are cheaper going to the tourist excursion shops than buying it from your rep.

you leave very early in the moring (about 5am) and get a flight to Cairo. the price included in my trip..

    the flight

    lunch

    pyramids

    perfume factory

    papyrus museum.

every trip depending who is running it has different venues laid on after the pyramids. we also went to see President Sadaats burial place. your hotel will give you a packed breakfast and a late meal when you come back at about 9.30pm.

at the pyramids there are a lot of men trying to sell you things. they will even ask for payment for getting your pic taken with them..lol. but they are harmless.

the little kids are out there too selling and i saw a couple of american men being really nasty to them. What they have to remember is that they are put there by their families to earn money. it's hardly their faults they are there, but they are lovely little kids and i felt so sorry for them.

the pyramids are well worth seeing. i was in awe. they are nothing like when you watch a programme about them. the fact that they were there in front of me was just fantastic. and i never thought that the blocks they  were built with were as big as they were.  truely amazing.

i hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself.

UKOK.....a bus from sharm to cairo is about £6 and is on a luxury coach. the mini buses are for local travel. get your facts straight. and you can fly to your tour also.

    happy holidays
