Usually everything you have in your bank account and then a little bit more.

Entry fees depending upon how many classes you ride $100

Bike Anywhere from $4500 to $10,000 depending upon new or old.

Helmet from $300 to $600

Boots up to $800

Jersey and pants around $250

Knee braces if you want them $1000

Chest guard $150

Then you have all the oils, fuel and maintenance to pay for

Petrol to get to the track and it just goes on.

So everything you have and a bit more

As Auburn states, the starter price can be alot, but once you have your kit, its more of an on going "hobbie" price.

If you get really good, its free & people will pay you to race........ but you have to be really really good for that !

Its pretty much the same as any other sport or hobby.

The more serious you take it the more it will cost.

its not cheap even at club level. as Auburn has laid out the basics. and Wiggysan has pointed out the potential. I will just be the pessimist and say

helmet $100-200

chest protector gloves goggles boots $250

entry fee and miscellaneous $300

Alot of money to start, but worth it once your in it.

Yeah, I'm a AMA pro rider. When I was racing in the state only it can be anywhere from $300-900 for the season and that good stuff. For the bike and everything. For the bike and to actually a good race bike it can be anywhere from $2000-8000 I dont know your money range but My bike are about close to $9000 with all AMA parts. But I dont buy the bikes stock everything when I get the bike my sponsores have done everthing: new engine, new everything. I race for Team Monster Energy if you really do watch racing on tv. For all the outfit and safety stuff $800-1200
