  1. Here is their price list.  It depends on what you want included and the time of year you visit.

  2. I have fallen in love with a handsome chap called Tyler who made my dream come true. Only problem is, Tyler is a dolphin.

I never thought I would actually get to touch one of these beautiful creatures, let alone swim along holding onto the back of one. But I have and I loved it.

However, I will hold onto those memories because the cost is a factor that will make sure I don?t do it again in a hurry!

I heard about Discovery Cove in Orlando while I was planning a holiday there last year. Someone I work with had been and loved it so I looked into it. I couldn?t believe my eyes when I saw that it costs £150 each and immediately dismissed it.

But the more I got thinking about it the more I wanted to do it and started trying to justify the cost. Nope, impossible. How can they justify charging you £150 for one day?

But I talked about it with my boyfriend and we decided to go for it. After all, this was to be the holiday of a lifetime.

You have to book in advance because places are strictly limited as only a couple of hundred people are allowed into the park in any one day.

I booked at the time of booking the holiday and got the tickets for £140 through Virgin. It was the lowest price I could find anywhere.

    For that you get:

    *Admission to Discovery Cove

    *Dolphin swim

*Loan of a life vest and towel

    *A snorkel

    *Use of a locker

    *Free parking

*A free colour photograph of your party

*Suncream that doesn?t harm the animals

    *Lunch

*Seven day unlimited pass to Seaworld

The fact that you got the pass to Seaworld eased the cost a bit as we wanted to go there anyway.

I looked at the website for Discovery Cove so many times before our holiday that I could probably have recited it word for word! It was billed as paradise and looked gorgeous with its crystal waters and man-made beaches.

Discovery Cove is located directly opposite Seaworld so it is easy to fi

    nd.

When we went into the reception we were given printed passes to wear around our neck displaying our name and a photo of us. They were really trendy actually! We were given our bag containing our snorkel and mask (you got to keep the snorkel) and a time for our dolphin swim and the name of the cabana in which we had to meet.

We were then taken to have our free photograph taken which was lovely. Similar size photos at Disney had cost us around £9.

Then we were led to the lockers and each given a life vest.

We had a look around and it really is a lush and exclusive getaway. We went to have a look around the free-flight aviary first of all.

Brightly coloured birds fly around above you and members of staff are on hand to give out small pots of food. As soon as you have one the birds come and land on you. It?s great for photographs and a lovely experience.

It is best to do this first thing as they are not so eager to land on you later in the day when they are full up and want to rest.

I also fed a deer in the aviary. It was gorgeous!

The price also includes unlimited access to the coral reef, ray lagoon, resort pool, tropical river and the aviary.

The resort pool is the perfect place to get to grips with snorkelling before going into one of the fish-filled pools.

The tropical river is a nice, peaceful place to swim too and passes the aviary.

The Ray Lagoon is great as it is filled with stingrays but they have had their stings removed so they are not in the least dangerous.

There is also a glass partition with barracuda behind it that you can swim next to and it?s like swimming with them.

    THE DOLPHIN SWIM

We had been told to go to the Sand Dollar Cabana at 12.30pm for our dolphin swim and it was so exciting! We were part of a group of about eight and were told a bit about what was going to happen and shown a video about dolphins.

Then we were led out and into a lar

ge pool where other groups were also having dolphin swims. We had been watching them from the beach earlier in the day so we more or less knew the routine.

We all lined up in the water and were introduced to Tyler the dolphin. He was about eight years old and used to do shows at Seaworld.

He was great! We each got to kiss him, touch him and feed him and then the trainer got him to do a few tricks for us.

After that we were taken out into deeper water in our individual groups and allowed to play around with him on our own for about five minutes. When it was our turn we had to pretend to shoot him under the water and he turned over and played dead. Then we had to tickle him and he flapped his fins.

After we had finished we each held onto his fin gently and he pulled us back to the shallow water.

It was fantastic and I have never known anything like it. It is a shame though that your ?half hour? dolphin swim is actually just five minutes on your own but I expected that and the experience as a whole was great.

Members of staff are in the water with you and take photographs and film a video. You can buy them and several packages are available. We bought five photographs but not the video because it was ridiculously priced at around £50.

The best thing to do would be to make friends with someone whose swim is at a different time and take each others photographs and videos.

    LUNCH

Lunch was available from a buffet which all seemed to have been freshly prepared. I had a stir fry and then jelly for dessert. It was nice but nothing special.

Although the day was expensive I am glad we did it and it is something that I will never forget.
