I am a single guy and hate doing indoor house work. Its only me and my little dog. I have one bathroom 2 bedrooms(but the second bedroom is empty). I would only need to have someone come in once every 2 weeks. My house is only about 1,000 sq feet. How much would it be for someone to come in a clean the place? Also I hate doing laundry would that be a extra charge? If so how much?

  1. Just ask around and see what housecleaners get in your area. By the hour is the most fair. How long it takes depends on what you want done and how messy you are. I'd think someone could probably do a pretty thorough clean in 4 hours, including some laundry, but the trouble with laundry is that it takes about an hour and a half to wash and dry one load so if someone is there for 4 hours they can only get two loads done.

  2. Well, it varies for where you live. My mother-in-law does housecleaning professionally and she makes from $9.00-15.00 per hour, depending on what they've negotiated. The place she's making $9.00 has been a client since the beginning, so she gives them a better rate. She said average is $12. The $15 is for an office.

Laundry will be more expensive, unless you negotiate it into the hourly price. You may be able to get your laundry done somewhere else in town for a cheaper rate. My friend in Missouri told me she can have her laundry all done at a mom-n-pop laundromat by the lady owner for the same price than she can do it herself for at that same laundromat. And it's all folded and everything.
